Sanctuary of Truth

All-wood museum – not a temple. hand-carved, no nails, started in 1981 by a Thai businessman. scheduled for completion in 2050. Entry is 500 baht, hard hats provided. How to get there? Motorbike taxi. Or walk along the beach.

Bali Hai Pier

The southeastern end of Walking Street. By day it's where the Koh Larn ferries leave from. The Koh Larn ferry leaves from the right side of the pier. The Tawaen Beach ferry leaves from the left.

The Lighthouse

At cape Bali Hai. For years only visited by fishermen and homeless people. Now there’ a juice bar and a restaurant. Perfect for sunset dates.

Pratumnak Hill

Big Buddha (Wat Phra Yai) at the top. Big Buddha statue, a golden Naga Snake staircase, seven smaller day-of-the-week Buddhas, a bell tower. Free entry, keep shoulders and knees covered.

Khao Pattaya Viewpoint Free, open 7 AM to 10 PM. The monument honors Admiral Prince Abhakara, the father of the Thai Navy. Don't walk shirtless past the statue.

Pattaya City Sign Hollywood-style illuminated letters. Good view. City Coffee Pattaya café nearby. Next to it: a little open-air fitness park.

Wang Sam Sien Chinese Taoist temple, dedicated to Confucius.
